Whoa! Another Rafa Nadal Comeback

Vamos, Rafa!

If you think that Rafa Nadal's career in the top tier of the sport is over, well think again. Rafa Nadal is still growling, and it shows at the Swiss Indoors at Basel. Although Rafa did not win any slam this year, and had a 'mediocre' showing at Masters events in 2015, there's no denying the fact that the Spanish top player's will has not deteriorated and this is seen in full display at the Swiss indoors event. Rafa Nadal edges out Marin Cilic, a US Open winner in three sets, the third three-setter that Rafa won in the tournament. The score was 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 and clearly showed that Rafa did another classic comeback, in the same style he did in the previous rounds.

He next plays Richard Gasquet in the semi-finals, and will potentially face Roger Federer for the finals.

Anti-Scratch Coating- Making Polycarbonates Work Better

Engineering and construction materials for displays and varied applications come in many forms and types and one popular product that’s gaining is polycarbonate sheet. Polycarbonates, especially those sheets that are scratch resistant or finished with hard coating are now favored construction and display materials thanks to its durable construction and flexible nature that allows it to be melded, worked or thermoformed. And since many companies now offer anti-scratch coating as a value added service to polycarbonate sheets, scratch resistant polycarbonates are now highly sought after offering better value for money.

Anti-Scratch Polycarbonate Sheets for Improved Protection

Polycarbonates are tough materials often used in engineering and designed to be optically transparent. Thanks to these properties, polycarbonate sheets are favored materials in a number of applications from automotive engineering and consumer electronics. Polycarbonates are often used in making CDs, DVDs and CD-ROMs and also a great material for automotive applications. These sheets are also used in commercial applications, particularly for display purposes. Although polycarbonates are tough and highly flexible, it has one weakness- polycarbonate sheets are soft plastic which are prone to damages or scratches. This is where anti-scratch coating comes into the picture. With the application of an anti-scratch coating on polycarbonate sheets, a variety of custom materials can be produced for different applications including scratch-resistant sheets, anti scratch lens and anti scratch film.

The use of anti scratch polycarbonate sheet can work in the police force. Traditionally, the protective visors, prison windows and riot shields are simply made from tough polycarbonates. But constant use and abuse often damage the surface of plastic making these tools and equipment unattractive. But with the addition of anti-scratch coating, the materials become scratch resistant with improved abrasion resistance that can withstand constant use and the application of corrosive cleaning agents. In short, the anti scratch polycarbonate sheets with hard coating makes the duty of maintaining peace and order stylish and fun.

Polycarbonates with Anti-Scratch Coating Delivers in Retail Environment

Polycarbonates with anti-scratch coating also work in the retail environment. Polycarbonates can be used as display cases to show off the merchandises and other products for sale. But constant use, touch and fingerprints will leave the display ugly to look at. This can be addressed with the application of an anti-scratch coating to make anti scratch polycarbonate sheet. No matter how many hands will try to touch the display or marvel at the display, store supervisors will remain confident that the display will retain its looks thanks to the addition of anti scratch film. The use of anti scratch film and anti-scratch coating can also work in the food and restaurant industry. Display cases and containers are usually made from polycarbonates and when these cases are applied with anti-scratch coating, the display retains its cleanliness and optical clarity, thus adding to the appeal of food and delicacies to be served.

Polycarbonates are tough, reliable and highly flexible materials but these can still be improved. What you can do is to apply an extra layer of anti-scratch coating or anti scratch film to create a reliable, dirt-free anti scratch polycarbonate sheet.

Detoxifying With Skinny Tea- Discover How It Works for Your Body

Detoxification and cleansing one’s body is no longer just a passing fad that one signs up to become part of a trend. This is now considered a must-do health regimen to flush out the toxins out of the system and nurture a cleaner and healthier body. Now, there are different ways on how to cleanse the body and promote better health. For some, it’s all about the selection of appropriate diet, intake of supplements and for many; it’s all about natural tea or organic tea. Organic tea has been around for centuries, but it’s starting to gain popularity among dieticians and the health-conscious young professionals thanks to its refreshing approach to health and wellness.

Discover the power of organic tea, today

Organic tea is different from commercialized tea primarily thanks to the process of growing the leaves and how these are prepared. Just like other organic produce, organic tea leaves are grown and cultivated without the use of commercial fertilizers. When used to cleanse the system, organic tea isn’t used to completely replace the diet of a person, it simply ‘reinforces’ the diet to help cleanse the system and promote better health. tea for cleansing has been the topic of many scientific researches lately including a 2013 landmark study by Italian, American and Dutch researchers who found out that cleanse tea will not just flush out the toxins but can also lower the risk of developing certain diseases including heart problems and also help boost mental acuity. It also added that skinny tea can be used to boost your mood and keep the weight at manageable level. Although organic tea is known for its health benefits, keep in mind that not all organic tea has the same effects and benefits. Tea leaves can come in different types, from green to black tea. Other herbs that have healthy properties include ginger, milk thistle, dandelion and lemongrass which can promote a healthier liver. Ginger is a favored addition to the organic tea mix can also help cleanse the system and protect the liver. In short, you still have to be informed and careful when taking organic tea to detoxify your body.

A few words about organic tea for detoxification

Although organic tea helps cleanse the body, keep in mind that using cleanse tea alone will not cure you of all body ills. Skinny tea and exercise complements each other well and help promote better health.

Self-Driving Trucks Approved for Test Runs in Nevada

This week, the latest from the industry focuses on the emerging (or should we say, established) technology in motoring called self-driving technology. Just the other day, news came about about an autonomous truck that was unveiled by Daimler- a truck grounded on the same Google driver-less technology that has been around for years. While the attention is on Google's self-driving cars and the safety concerns regarding their autonomous cars, other companies have been silently testing their technologies, Daimler included.

In an effort to promote and validate its technology, Daimler has sought a license to test their self driving trucks, and the latest news is that the state of Nevada has agreed to allow the company to test their self-driving cars on the state's roads. This move relays two critical things- one, there's a growing interest in self-driving cars and two, the US is looking at a way to come up with new rules that will govern the new stars on the road and highways- the self-driving vehicles.

Self-driving trucks should be better, safer and can be introduced much earlier to the general public. Compared to self-driving cars like Google's cars, Daimler's self-driving trucks will navigate the less tricky open roads, away from high-trafficked city roads. Any thoughts?

Self-Driving Cars- Safe Vehicles on the Road?

Self-driving cars (and trucks) are now the rage in the automotive circuit, and the technology is now made available thanks to a number of companies, Google included. While Google is not the first company to test the waters for self-driving technology for cars, there's no denying the brand name and the clout of Google name in the industry. This technology for an autonomous car is called Google Chauffeur, and mainly the work of the team led by Sebastian Thrun, formerly of Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the same person behind the Google Street View project. The idea to develop this kind of car was motivated by their winning design in the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge.

Technology gaining acceptance, but safety is challenged

Well, the idea behind this technology is to come up with a car that can run without a driver, and this project has been received positively (and wouldn't, right?) and there are now a number of states that have approved the technology. According to Google, the technology and the self-driving car will be available to the general public by 2020. Now, here's a valid question that's being raised by many- is the self-driving car a safe addition on the road?

The latest questions on the safety of driver-less cars are now being raised online after a blog post from a Google insider acknowledged that the self-driving cars have been involved in a number of accidents in the last few years. To put this in perspective, a Google rep said that their self-driving cars have been involved in 11 accidents over 6 years, with no injuries, over 1.7 million miles worth of drive (emphasis mine). So is this enough to question the safety of the self-driving car? I guess, not yet. So what's your take on Google's self-driving car?

Mary Barra Received $16.2 M in Compensation in 2014 from GM

Due to the demands of my freelancing gigs, I hardly notice the latest news and trends in the auto industry, something that I loved doing in the past. But right now, due to slowdown in project requests, I have a reason to check out what's going in the automotive industry and was surprised to know that there's a new chief executive for General Motors, and a woman. She's Mary Barra, a home-grown talent, who grew within the company, and not an outsider compared to her predecessor. According to NYT, she received $16.2 M in compensation, $1.57 M is cash, and the rest comes in the form of stock options. She was chosen in 2013 to replace Akerson.

A Mercedes Benz Pick-Up Truck- Brawn and Style Finally Merged?

Mercedes-Benz is known for its luxury sedans geared towards the middle class and enthusiasts who want to stand out, but a pick-up? If some of the latest industry news are to be believed, Mercedes-Benz now plans to dip its fingers in the pick-up truck segment, and perhaps compete with the old names in this niche market including Ford, Toyota and General Motors. And if this project will indeed materialize we will definitely see a new generation of pick-up that merges brawn and style.

This development was reported by a tweet by CNBC, and added that the rendering of the front end of the pick-up truck will have a sleek front end and will be finished as a double cab one ton pick-up variant. According to Daimler, this new Mercedes-Benz pick-up truck will all have the trimmings one will expect from the Mercedes-Benz brand.

Well, good to know!
